Spring is here, and it’s a beautiful thing! This time of year I not only love the weather, but the fashion is also on top. It always feels great to swap out heavy sweaters for flowy dresses and lighter layers. While I love playing with trends and fun outfit combinations each season, I also love focusing on my wardrobe staples and clothing basics.

So today, similar to the winter outfit staples I shared, I’m going to talk about spring wardrobe essentials that I’ll wear again and again. There are some pieces that I have my eye on and am purchasing, while others are all-time favorites that I’ll be pulling out of my closet from last year. Let’s dive right in!

My take on spring wardrobe essentials

When it comes to staples, it’s important to remember that what “qualifies” as a clothing essential is really in the eye of the beholder. My version of the staple may look quite different from yours – it all depends on your personal style.

For this list, I focused on two things: first, classic fashion pieces that I find myself on repeat every spring, and second, the trendy pieces I find myself leaning toward this year. The 10 springtime clothing essentials presented here are a thoughtful combination of both.

10 Spring Clothing Essentials

Okay, now for the fun part! Let’s take a look at ten spring pieces that I hope will be my 2026 closet MVPs.

1. An Easy Cargo Pant

I love comfortable jeans or pants and I’m really into the cargo trend going on right now. While I’m generally interested in all things feminine, there’s something so refreshing about wearing straight-leg cargo pants, an easy striped tee, and a pair of sleek sandals. I can already tell this will be one of my favorite dresses this spring.

Some of my current favorites include these twill pants that I’ve worn countless times in NYC and Dallas (they make for a great airport pant), this taffeta cargo pair that every influencer is raving about, and this pink option that also taps into the barrel-leg trend.

2. Simple Strappy Sandals

A strappy sandal really goes with everything – from a sundress to a slip skirt to casual denim and everything in between. I’ve really stuck with the pairings I discovered last year, which have transitioned seamlessly into 2026.

My most worn sandals – this pair and this pair – are both back this year and in new colors! These styles took me on trips to NYC, Stockholm, Prague, and countless other destinations last summer. They are comfortable, lightweight and very easy to pack.

3. An elastic-waist bubble hem skirt

I never thought I’d see the day when bubble hems would be trending again, but here we are! I’m loving how this trend has evolved into an easy, elastic-waist skirt. Its Great alternative to sundress. Pair one with a tucked-in fitted tee and one of the simple sandals I’ve mentioned for a chic spring look.

So far, I’m committed to this skirt (as seen styled here) and this skirt. Both bring something different to the table – the taffeta option feels a little more girly and would look great with kitten heels, while the poplin version is more casual and would look great with an easy graphic tee or fitted cardigan and sneakers.

4. Perfectly Fitted Tee

Well, for that, I have to admit that I’m still researching. A few years ago, I shared my picks for the best women’s T-shirts, but as we all know, fit and fabric change from season to season. Right now, I’m gathering information about what my favorite t-shirt will be for summer 26.

Currently in the running is this tee that comes in a rainbow of colors, this cap-sleeve option and this classic style. I think all of these will eventually become part of my spring wardrobe essentials, but I’ll keep you updated on which ones ultimately become my favorites!

5. A spring sweater

I know what you’re thinking – a sweater? You live in Florida! But the truth is that here you are either sweating outside and battling the heat or chilling inside in the AC. The middle does not exist. Because of this, I’m always on the lookout for a great summer lightweight sweater.

My top two right now are this “Perfect Sweater” (no, really – that’s the name, and it’s fitting!) and this open-weave linen-blend option. These are great for throwing over your shoulder or tossing in a large tote, so you can easily layer up when you go to a cool grocery store or dinner spot.

6. Satin Pants

Similarly, while I love dresses, skirts, and shorts in the warmer months, I don’t completely dismiss pants. The key is to find lightweight, breathable styles. Lately, satin pants have been trending, and it looks like they’re here to stay.

Of course, I love this pair so much that I have it in two colors. Two great options at more affordable price points are this under $100 option that comes in some pretty colors and this sleek pair. Need some outfit inspiration? You can see me styling satin (and satin-like) pants here, here, and here!

7. Aviator Shades

A great pair of sunglasses is always a must in the spring. Lately, aviators have been my favorite shape. There are lots of great options at different prices. Personally, I like the oversized styles (surprise, surprise!) that feel a little more modern.

I recently got this pair from a new brand, and I’m in love with it. I feel like they instantly dress up any outfit! If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, I recently picked up these and these as well – and have gotten lots of compliments on both.

8. A great third piece

Hot days, cool nights – this time of year calls for a great third piece: something you can wear easily that’s versatile enough to pair with pretty much anything in your wardrobe, like this jacket I’m wearing today!

At the top of my list is this jacket. I love the loose shape, the lightweight fabric, and how it feels like a mix of preppy and minimalist styles. An even more girly girl? This light pink barn coat is darling. Do you want a mix of feminine and utilitarian? This jacket ticks both boxes. And of course, I love the shape of the collar!

9. An Easy Set

When it comes to my spring wardrobe essentials a great set is an absolute must. It’s a no-brainer — it makes you feel instantly put together, it’s generally easy to decorate, and individual pieces can be re-styled with other staples in your wardrobe.

Right now I have my eye on this terry stripe set. Talk about a throw-and-go outfit! If terry is your thing, be sure to check out this set as well. Are you looking for more pop of color? This set will do just that! Also, note – I think it’s much better in real life. Its styling looks a little strange on the model, but trust me, it’s much more attractive in person.

10. A versatile feminine dress

Spring calls for lots of occasions – Mother’s Day, baby showers, weddings and everything in between. I like to wear feminine clothes that look as good with flats as they do with heels.

This flowy midi dress will be my personal favorite this year. It comes in navy, black and pink, making it perfect for any number of occasions you may dress up for!
