Look, we already know that Avengers: Doomsday will be a very character-packed movie. In case the initial five-hour-plus cast announcement in March 2025, which listed no fewer than 27 characters, didn’t make this clear enough, consider the fact that we’re getting trailers with even more characters for the premiere of the film. It’s getting to the point where it’s unclear who is and isn’t in Avengers: Doomsday, and that’s true for both the actors themselves and the fans.

“I’m in the universe and, as you know, I can’t tell you anything. But I’m not in it. I mean, I’m not in it. I’m telling you right now, I’m not in it. If I were in it, which I’m not, I couldn’t tell you, but I literally am not,” Kat Dennings told Entertainment Tonight about whether or not she’ll appear in Marvel’s big 2026 movie. But if she doesn’t seem convinced if Darcy Lewis, her character from the Thor and WandaVision movies, could appear or not, there is a reason for it.

“I’m sure they already filmed it. I was here. [on set of her ABC sitcom Shifting Gears]” he continued. “I’m not into this. But they scanned me, so to be honest, they could put me in whatever they want at the moment. “I’m in the system.”

While Marvel has experience digitally rejuvenating actors in films, it hasn’t gone so far as to have a fully digital avatar of an actor appear in a film in any substantial way outside of visual effects shots. Although it may be worth remembering that Marvel Studios does We have a 20-year contract for the digital image of the late Stan Lee, which has 17 years remaining…

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18. Maybe there’s a digital Kat Dennings in there. Maybe there will be a digital Stan Lee. Maybe Tilly Norwood could even make a cameo.
