New Delhi: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said the free trade agreement between India and the European Union, where negotiations are in the final stages, will be the “mother of all deals” signed by the country so far.“I have signed seven deals so far. All with developed economies. This will be the mother of them all,” the minister said. There are several more agreements in the pipeline including a bilateral trade agreement with the US.The minister said that “we are getting a great deal” in areas of India’s interest. Even in areas of interest to the EU, we are giving them a super deal. This should be a win-win. The good thing is that we do not compete with each other. We have different interests.”On Thursday, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal had said that both sides have held talks on 20 out of 24 chapters and efforts are being made to conclude the talks by January 26.European Council President Antonio Luis Santos da Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will be the chief guests at the Republic Day celebrations.Separately, Goyal said the ministry is considering creating a segment for startups under the Rs 25,000 crore export promotion mission.
