Thanks to last week’s 2-0 victory over the Saint-Gilloise union, Bayern Munich secured a top-four spot in the Champions League “league phase” standings. A draw or a win against PSV Eindhoven will secure second place. If Arsenal lose to FC Kairat, Bayern will have a unique opportunity to finish at the top of the table. In any of these scenarios, Bayern will have an advantage until the quarter-finals and probably until the semi-finals as well.
On the other hand, PSV will look for points to avoid elimination from the Champions League. Currently with eight points, PSV are trapped in a dense area of the table and will be looking for a big surprise to sneak into the knockout phase. With all 18 games played simultaneously, PSV will not know if they have done enough until the final whistle.

Three things you should know about PSV
Bayern wins 2-1. After the first defeat of the season in the Bundesliga, Bayern will emerge victorious. Michael Olise will score a beautiful left-footed shot from outside the box and Jonathan Tah will score a header after a corner kick from Olise. PSV will score early in the second half, but both teams will be content to hold the score for the final 30 minutes.
