Tata Consultancy Services Limited is “not afraid” of AI or “revenue cannibalization” due to AI tools being used by clients. In fact, India’s largest IT services firm is pushing employees to use AI tools to deliver work faster and cheaper.
“We are telling colleagues that if you think you can do something faster, better, cheaper with AI, then you should probably go and tell your customers (about it), even if it means less revenue,” TCS CEO Kriti Kritivasan said at the Nasscom Technology and Leadership Forum in Mumbai.
“We are not afraid that this technology will take away our livelihoods. We believe it is going to open up more, so you will benefit more by taking advantage of it, rather than by resisting the change.”
Kritivasan’s opinion on AI comes as the Nifty IT index has fallen nearly 21% so far in February, putting India’s top IT stocks on track for their worst monthly performance in nearly 23 years.
