The skies have cleared Dhurandhar 2. The spy thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, will release solo on March 19, as Yash’s pan-Indian action thriller Toxic has been delayed to June. With the benefit of a solo release, Dhurandhar is now gaining momentum in pre-sales in North America, surpassing the $100,000 mark two weeks before release.
Dhurandhar 2 Early Booking
On Wednesday, Sacnilk reported that Dhurandhar 2 has already grossed $100,000 in pre-sales, including $70,000 for the March 18 release. The film has not yet been released on all screens and in all locations, but will do so in the coming weeks. This means that the film will attempt to cross the million dollar mark in releases alone. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal currently holds the record for the biggest opening of an Indian film in the United States. Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film earned $1.2 million upon its releases in 2023, and it looks like Dhurandhar 2 will surpass that figure.
Dhurandhar Part 1 was a huge success in North America, grossing over $20 million in the United States and Canada. It beat Baahubali 2 to become the highest-grossing Indian film in North America before the end of its run. Given the current rumours, Dhurandhar 2 is on track to emulate that feat.
The advantage of Dhurandhar 2 solo release
On Wednesday, just two weeks before the most important event for Indian cinema in recent history, the makers of Toxic announced that they would postpone the film’s release until June. In a statement, Yash, the film’s star and co-producer, said it was due to “uncertainty in the Middle East.” The film will now be released on June 4, the makers announced in a statement shared on social media.
This gave Dhurandhar: The Revenge a solo release window, avoiding the mega crash that fans had dubbed ‘Dhuroxic’. With no other major Bollywood release in the entire March, Dhurandhar 2 is now all set to dominate the box office. The first projections indicate an opening of between $150-200 crore for Dhurandhar 2 in its opening weekend.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 brings back Ranveer Singh as Hamza alias Jaskirat in the spy thriller. R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt also return, along with Akshaye Khanna in a cameo. The film is a sequel to the 2025 box office hit Dhurandhar, which earned $1300 crores worldwide and is the second highest grossing Hindi film ever.
