As per the latest update of Indian Railways, RRB ALP notification has been issued for 11,127 substantial vacancies. According to the Seventh Pay Commission, appointed by the Government of India, the RRB Assistant Locomotive Pilot (ALP) can earn between Rs 19,900 and Rs 35,000 per month during their initial tenure. This salary comes with various role-related allowances and benefits from the Government of India and Indian Railway authorities.

Benefits and subsidies
The salary structure for the post of RRB Assistant Locomotive Pilot comes with a variety of allowances and perks that greatly benefit the appointed candidate. In addition to the basic salary, the designated ALP RRB receives grade pay, dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transportation allowance, night work allowance and operating allowance before applicable net deductions are credited to the salary.
Dearness Allowance: This is provided to offset the cost of living and is adjusted periodically to take into account any market inflation faced by the employee.
Housing Rent Subsidy: This subsidy helps the designated ALP cover housing costs based on the location of their positions.
Transportation Allowance: Allowance granted to cover the daily travel of the ALP.
Career allowance: It is an allowance based on the distance traveled in service.
A gazetted RRB ALP also gets gratuity payment, free medical facilities at approved hospitals of Indian Railways and free train tickets for family members on specified routes. ALPs are entitled to 30 days of paid leave, 12 days of casual leave and 30 days of medical leave with half pay. 10 percent of your salary is deducted for the New Pension Plan.
