OnePlus is starting to build momentum around its upcoming compact flagship, the OnePlus 15T, and the latest developments are putting connectivity clearly in the spotlight. Instead of simply improving raw performance, the company appears to have also focused on improving connectivity. Stable internet connectivity is important for competitive gaming.

In recent teasers on Weibo, OnePlus highlighted what it calls a 360° surround antenna system, combined with an “anti-blocking” design. The idea is pretty simple: better signal strength no matter how you hold the phone. It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t sound flashy, but can make a noticeable difference in real-world usage, especially in places with weaker coverage.
There’s also a dedicated G2 e-sports networking chip, which OnePlus carries over from its mainline. This chip is intended to improve Wi-Fi stability, reduce latency, and prioritize gaming traffic when necessary. This is combined with the main Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a touch response chip, forming what the company calls an “Esports Tri-Core” configuration. It’s a bit of branding, sure, but the goal seems to be smoother gameplay with fewer interruptions.

It is important to note that these are not just games. OnePlus presents these updates as something that also benefits overall use, with faster downloads, more stable browsing, and fewer random signal drops. Similar approaches have appeared before on some gaming-focused devices, but it’s interesting to see this level of focus on a compact flagship.
The OnePlus 15T has already been teased with a 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and a 50MP dual camera setup, along with a familiar premium design. Its launch in China is scheduled for March 24. Global availability, as usual with these models, is still unclear.
With just a few days left, OnePlus appears to be positioning the 15T as a compact phone that doesn’t compromise on what matters.
