Sci-fi thriller Ave Maria Project topped the UK and Ireland box office with a £4.6 million opening weekend; as an Indian sequel Dhurandhar: revenge broke records in second place.
Amazon MGM Studios Title Ave Maria Projectwith Sony handling distribution, it earned £4.6m from 701 sites, averaging £6,601 per site. The £4.6m figure is a record opening for a title produced by Amazon MGM Studios, more than doubling the £2m opening for the 2024 Christmas comedy. one red.

Even though awards season is already in the rearview mirror, Chloe Zhao Hamnet continues to find an audience through its 11th weekend in cinemas. Universal’s release added £30,310 in its latest session, falling 44% better than the market average; and amounts to £18.9 million in total.
Venice 2025 title dead man’s wire started with £22,196 for Vertigo Releasing, from 84 sites averaging £264. The film, starring Dacre Montgomery and Bill Skarsgard, has a total of £36,621.
Documentary about Scottish activism Everybody to Kenmure Street added £18,634 in its second weekend, a drop of just 27%, despite fewer sites and screenings. The film now costs £96,163 for Conic, having premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year before opening the Glasgow Film Festival.
Maggie Gyllenhaal The bride! leaves theaters after just three weekends. The gothic romance fell a considerable 91% in its third session, with £16,132; and is worth up to £1.4m for Warner Bros, having struggled during its run at the box office.
