Heavy rain accompanied by hailstorm lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Tuesday afternoon (March 24), leaving many areas waterlogged and causing severe traffic congestion across the city. Commuters spent hours traveling from their workplaces to their homes. Many people took to social media to show the size of the hail they captured.
The downpour coincided with the afternoon rush hour, when workers were returning home, worsening the situation on the main roads. Traffic was almost paralyzed in several places, with long queues of vehicles on key stretches. At the IT corridor around Gachibowli, Biodiversity Junction, commuters reported that only a series of red taillights were visible amid the traffic jam.
