A Paris Saint-Germain player has surprised the Madeira Rocket.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder João Neves surprised his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo by excluding him from his list of the best players in the Saudi Pro League or the Portuguese national team.
When asked to name the most notable players in several leagues, including Saudi Arabia, as well as the Portugal national team, the midfielder omitted his captain from both lists.
Instead, he named his compatriot João Félix of Al-Nassr as the current Saudi Pro League standout, calling him a “wizard.”
When pressed to name the best player in the Portuguese national team, he added: “It’s difficult, because I have already chosen Portuguese stars in the English and Italian leagues, so I will go with myself.”

On the contrary, his PSG teammate Lionel Messi, captain of Inter Miami and Ronaldo’s eternal rival, was named best player in the American league.
Neves has lined up alongside Ronaldo and Félix in the Portugal national team since October 2023, after impressing with Benfica.
