Word on the street – well, word on our street – is that Beef 2 In fact, it has improved on its 2023 predecessor. Far from the road rage events of Steven Yeun and Ali Wong’s vitriolic dueling anti-heroes, series 2 focused on two couples in the heart of a country club in Montecito, California, discovering that the new Korean owner relies on greed, blackmail and hatred in similar measures to them.
But as Beef now begins to spread as a sort of anthology series, like The white lotus Before, what do we know about a follow-up series? Meat 3? Here’s everything we know so far, including the plot, potential cast, release date, and trailer:
What has been said about Meat 3 until now?
While Netflix has yet to confirm a third season, series creator and showrunner Lee Sung Jin has said that he always envisioned the series as a three-part series, telling rolling stone at the end of the first series: “There are a lot of ideas on my part to keep this story going. I think if we are blessed with a second series, there are a lot of ways for Danny and Amy to continue. I have a big general idea that I can’t say yet, but I have three seasons planned in my head at the moment.”
We now know that the second season did not continue Danny and Amy’s story, but rather was a clean slate of characters and plots. In an interview with Korea TimesHe added that the two series were “spiritual brothers,” adding, “Season 2 is a natural progression from where we left off season 1.”
All of this suggests that a third series would also have a completely new story and cast, but what unites them all remains the same: they all have problems with each other.
Who is the cast for? Meat 3?
So far, no announcements have been made, but we think it’s highly unlikely that we’ll return to the characters from season two, despite how good Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Youn Yuh-jung were.
Will Jin want to revisit Steven Yeun and Ali Wong’s characters? It’s a possibility, but you may also want to focus on a new setting and cast for a third (and possibly final) outing. Plus, if season two is anything to go by, expect plenty of stars to reappear.
Is there a release date for Meat 3?
No, nothing so far, and given the three-year gap between one and two, it’s unlikely we’ll see anything until… 2029, by those calculations, which sounds like an incredibly futuristic date.
Is there a trailer for Meat 3?
No, we’re obviously nowhere near a trailer, but as soon as we are, we’ll link to it here.
