Jamshedpur, Thursday, April 30, 2026: Jamshedpur FC will host FC Goa in a high-stakes encounter of the Indian Super League 2025-26 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday, May 1, 2026.
The match will begin at 19:30 IST and will be broadcast live on FanCode and Sony Sports Network.
With the title race beginning to take shape, both teams arrive with momentum and a clear opportunity to move to the top of the table. Jamshedpur FC are fifth with 18 points from 10 matches, but a win would take them to first place, ahead of current leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant (20 points). FC Goa, second with 19 points, can also climb to the top with a victory, setting up a very balanced competition.

Historically, FC Goa has a slight advantage in this match. In 16 previous matches, they have recorded eight wins compared to Jamshedpur’s six, with two matches ending in a draw. The most recent match, however, was in favor of Jamshedpur, who achieved a 3-1 victory in February 2025.
Both teams come into the game with good performances. Jamshedpur FC were successful in their 4-1 victory against Chennaiyin FC, with Mohammed Sanan scoring twice, in addition to goals from Raphaël Messi Bouli and Nikola Stojanović. Meanwhile, FC Goa recorded a controlled 2-0 victory against NorthEast United FC, with Dejan Dražić and Mohammad Yasir on the scoresheet.
The contest sets up an intriguing tactical battle. Jamshedpur’s fluid attacking unit will look to break down a well-organised FC Goa defense that has conceded just six goals this season, the joint-best record in the league. The partnership between Messi Bouli and Sanan has been key to Jamshedpur’s attacking threat, while Madih Talal’s creativity and Stojanović’s influence in midfield provide balance and progression.

Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle acknowledged the challenge ahead and expressed confidence in his team. “FC Goa is a very good team. Manolo (Marquez) is a good friend of mine, an exceptional coach. They have invested a lot in their squad. If you look at their domestic players, they are all Indian internationals,” he said. “But we are looking forward to the game. We know that when we give our best we can win these games.”
Midfielder Stojanović stressed the importance of team cohesion. “I think not only about football, but about everything in life. For me, it is energy. When you feel good, when you have good energy, when you are in a good environment, in a good team, with good people. We form that energy every day,” he said. “On the training field, in the gym, in the dining room. I think that connection with the fans, with the players, with the staff, with everyone together; if we form a good chemistry and a good energy like we have here, then the results will come and the good game will come.”

Meanwhile, FC Goa will rely on their defensive organization and will continue to be a threat in the final third. With Dražić expected to miss, the onus will fall on their collective offensive unit, with the likes of Mohammad Yasir and Muhammed Nemil expected to step up and provide the vanguard through movement, link-up play and late entries into the box.
Coach Manolo Márquez emphasized his confidence in the team, particularly its strong Indian core. “We are very satisfied with our team. We are very proud of the players,” he said. “Most of our team are Indian players, and they are competing very, very well against all the teams. We only lost one game. Most of the teams at the top of the table have six foreigners. We are competing very well, practically the entire season with two foreigners. Tomorrow we will be only with one. I have a lot of confidence in our Indian players because they have very good quality.”

Yasir echoed that approach and stressed the importance of consistency. “Whatever the coach tells us, whatever we do in practice, we do it the same way. There is no difference between us. We have to play Jamshedpur. We don’t have to do it differently,” he said. “We’ve been doing it from the beginning. We’ve been practicing from the beginning. That’s why we do it the same way.”
With just one point separating both teams and first place within reach, the match will play an important role in the early direction of the title race, where fine margins and execution at key moments could prove decisive.
