Happy day after day after the Met Gala!
I have to be honest: After 20 years of fashion bomb dilly-dallying, it takes a little longer to recover from the big nights. But also, after doing Fashion Bomb Daily for 20 years, I’m now a Met Gala regular!

God is great!
This year was the second year of Fashion Bomb Daily covering fashion’s biggest night from the carpet. It’s always an excitement and a special moment to see the industry’s creativity and brightest stars shine center stage, all in support of institutions that champion the arts.
This year, we’ve partnered with French media outlet Vendetta Daily to bring you minute by minute video and style. I’m sure you all remember the time I moved to Paris in 2008? Well, my affinity for France has worked for me, as it has allowed me to build great relationships with French companies like this one. While I focused on the interviews, Vendetta got to work uploading the videos in real time.

For the occasion, I rekindled my love of all things French with a custom couture creation from Lebanese designers Khaled & Marwen. We collaborated closely on the look, and since the theme was “Fashion Is Art,” I decided to wear the artwork literally—which included Marie-Guillemin Benoist’s painting of a black woman, known today as The Fashionista. Portrait of Madeleine. Created in 1800, this piece came during the brief period when slavery was abolished in France, and it is powerful because the subject is presented as a singular focus – dignified, centered and completely human – at a time when black people were typically depicted as slaves or accessories in European art.

It was interesting to see the interpretation of the topic. I feel like most guests leaned into the “body” aspect – adding hands painted on their clothes or referencing anatomy with skeletal elements like Beyoncé did. There were many extraordinary looks, but my favorite was Emma Chamberlain at Mugler – she truly looked like a walking piece of art.
Well done!
I can tell you from experience that getting it right for the Met Gala is hard work!
