Car buyer alert: Maruti Suzuki to increase prices by Rs 30,000 from June; Check what changes

Car buyers will have to pay more from next month as Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday announced a price hike of up to Rs 30,000 across its vehicle portfolio from June 2026, citing inflationary pressures and a persistent adverse cost environment, PTI reported. In a regulatory filing, the country’s largest carmaker said the exact increase will vary across models. The company said it has been taking measures over the past few months to mitigate the impact of rising costs.“Over the past few months, the company has been making continuous efforts to minimize cost impact as much as possible through cost reduction measures,” Maruti Suzuki India said. However, the company said the price revision has become necessary due to continued cost pressures.“With inflationary pressures now at elevated levels and an unfavorable cost environment prevailing, the company will have to pass on a portion of the increased costs to the market, while ensuring that the impact on customers is kept to a minimum,” it said.Maruti Suzuki currently sells a wide range of vehicles, from the entry-level S-Presso to the premium utility vehicle Invicto, priced between Rs 3.49 lakh to Rs 28.7 lakh (ex-showroom).Company officials had recently hinted at the possibility of a price revision amid rising commodity costs. In January this year, the company had launched a price protection scheme for customers whose vehicle deliveries were delayed due to production disruptions.Maruti Suzuki ended FY26 with around 1.9 lakh pending customer orders, which included around 1.3 lakh orders in the small car segment under the 18 per cent GST bracket. After the implementation of GST 2.0 last September, the company had reduced the prices of many entry-level models. S-Presso prices were cut by Rs 1,29,600, Alto K10 prices by Rs 1,07,600, Celerio prices by Rs 94,100 and Wagon-R prices by Rs 79,600.
