Actor Jason Lewis returns to social media with a vague explanation for leaving the public eye for the past three years.

The “Sex and the City” alum, 54, posted a short video on Instagram on Thursday, May 21, walking along a beach while addressing the camera directly. The caption of the post read: “After three years, it’s about time.”

“Three years ago I stayed silent. Not because I had nothing to say, but because I had something to do,” he said in the video.

While he didn’t reveal what task kept him busy for years, he hinted that it was “the kind of creative work that doesn’t leave room for much else.”

He continued: “I’ve made peace with that. It’s the kind of work that needs to find its people, though. I’m still at it. But I’ve moved on enough now that I felt it was time to resurface and share what I’ve been up to.

“More to come,” he joked.

Lewis has yet to be seen publicly since his brief stint on season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars” in 2022, where he and partner Peta Murgatroyd were the first couple out of the competition.

In an interview with People, the “Charmed” actor explained that he agreed to join the dance competition series after years of turning down invitations because of his fiancee, actress Liz Godwin.

“This year, when the offer came in, my fiancée asked me to be a little less stubborn and at least see a show,” he told the outlet. “It’s done in an incredibly beautiful way. The dancers are very talented.”

All posts on Lewis’ Instagram, other than his May 21 video, have been removed from his page.

Lewis is known for roles such as model Smith Jerrod on “Sex and the City,” artist Dex Lawson on “Charmed” and Chad Barry on “Brothers & Sisters.”
