UPDATED, July 8, 2026: Another trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s final Dune The movie is here.

Zendaya’s Chani is unhappy with Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreidies, who “promised” her he would never “take power in [his] name.” Jason Momoa’s Duncan Idaho comments on how Lisan al-Gaib has “conquered the galaxy” and “destroyed thousands of worlds.”

When Paul himself asks what he thinks of that, Idaho says, “I think you’re beyond redemption.”

Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan and Robert Pattinson’s Scytale can be seen discussing the latter’s motive for a “regime change,” which Irulan translates as killing Paul.

“Idiot,” he tells Pattinson’s blonde villain. “You just signed our death warrants.”

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Alia Atreides can also be seen, covered in blood and screaming, as well as Paul and Chani’s twins, in their parents’ arms. The clip ends with Chani summoning a sandworm.

PREVIOUS, March 17, 2026: fans of the Dune The franchise is taking a first look at Dune: part threewith Warner Bros and Legendary releasing the debut trailer on Tuesday (watch it below).

The film, which hits theaters December 18, features Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem and Anya Taylor-Joy, who had a cameo in second – back, with Robert Pattinson among the new additions to the cast.

On Monday, character posters were released showing off key players, including those above, as well as Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, and franchise newcomer Isaach de Bankolé.

The trailer for the third sequel, which takes place 17 years after the events of Dune: Part Twobegins with Zendaya’s Chani asking Chalamet’s Paul, “If we have a girl, what will we name her?” If it’s a boy, he says they should name him Leto, after Duke Leto Atreides, Paul’s father, because then he would “have the wisdom of his grandfather.”

Then, amid fierce battle scenes, we see Pattinson’s Scytale character, with his platinum blonde haircut.

Paul, now also sporting a haircut, runs to the top of a pedestal, high above a huge cheering crowd. We then see him confronting an opponent in the desert. “I’m not afraid of dying,” we hear him say in voiceover, “but I shouldn’t die yet.” In the final clip, Chani steels herself and runs towards an unseen adversary.
Dune is Legendary’s expansive, multi-format science fiction universe based on the Hugo Award-winning novel series by Frank Herbert. The collection has included two feature films, the one from 2021. Dune: Part One and last year Dune: Part Twowhich grossed a combined $1.12 billion at the global box office and won eight Oscars from 15 nominations, including Best Picture nominations for both.

Denis Villeneuve directed and co-wrote all three films.

The universe’s most recent entry is a prequel television series. Dune: Prophecyof Lost writer and producer Alison Schapker and set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. The series premiered on HBO and Max in November.

The bombshell is already gearing up for the third installment, with star Timothée Chalamet revealing his character’s poster on his social media on Monday. Warner Bros. has since made several character posters available (see below), including what appears to be new news that Bankolé’s Isaach has joined the cast, playing Farok.

Among other juicy things fans are looking forward to: the reveal of new cast members (some of whom we’ve already reported on); the fate of Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani, and how much we’ll see of Rebecca Ferguson this time around…

So far, here’s what we’ve reported about the long-awaited third part: Robert Pattinson confirmed his involvement, saying: “When I was making Dune It was so hot in the desert that I couldn’t question anything” and “it was so relaxing, like my brain wasn’t really working. He didn’t have a single functional brain cell. And I was listening to Denis: ‘Whatever you want!’” Insiders also told Deadline in previous reports that Pattinson will play the villainous role of Scytale.

Villeneuve reportedly shot the film last summer using Imax cameras (in part).

Anya Taylor-Joy, who was teased at the end of the second film, will join the cast as Alia, Chalamet’s younger sister.

Pattinson, Taylor-Joy and de Bankolé were included among the nine character posters released Monday.
