The Spanish Football Federation is concerned about the hamstring injury suffered by Marc Cucurella as reported.

Chelsea are believed to be sweating over the outcome of scans to determine the extent of the injury and how long the 27-year-old could be sidelined.

Cucurella is one of Chelsea’s most important players and has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season.

Rosenior revealed that the Spaniard would miss Friday’s FA Cup fourth-round match against Hull City, but a return date is currently unknown.

Cucurella is also expected to play an important role for Spain at this summer’s World Cup, and Spanish publication AS has reported that the Spanish Football Federation is concerned about the injury.

The report indicates that doctors suspect the hamstring may be involved, and Cucurella is believed to have undergone a medical examination on Thursday to determine the exact nature of the injury and recovery time.

In his absence, Jorrel Hato will have a number of games at left back, and the 19-year-old will have the opportunity to show what he can do.

The Blues face a big decision this summer with Cucurella, as he will only have two years left on his contract at the end of the season.
