The UFC’s great start to 2026 continues in Australia with the focus firmly on Alexander Volkanovski.
Local fighter Volkanovski’s featherweight championship is on the line in a rematch against Diego Lopes who headlines UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney.

When is UFC 325?
UFC 325 takes place on Saturday night, January 31, although the main event will begin in the early hours of Sunday, February 1 for UK fans.
The first preliminaries begin at 22:00 GMT on Saturday night.

What is at stake in UFC 325?
Volkanovski is making his first defense of the featherweight championship he won when he first fought Lopes last year.
Esteemed veteran Volkanovski, No. 5 in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings, is fighting at home in Australia for the first time in three years.
This is his second reign with the featherweight belt. He has defeated José Aldo, Max Holloway, Jung Chan-sung and Yair Rodriguez three times.
But attempts to win gold in the top division, lightweight, failed when he clashed twice with Islam Makhachev.
When she returned to featherweight she lost the belt to Ilia Topuria. But Volkanovski has since claimed it, after Topuria left the division.
Elsewhere at UFC 325, New Zealand’s Dan Hooker will fight Benoit Saint-Denis in the hot lightweight division.
Hooker has exchanged verbal fire with Paddy Pimblett this month and they could clash later.
