Lots of actions right after kickoff. Sondre Fet makes a great attempt early in the match, but Atlético Madrid’s defenders handled the situation well. Kasper Hogh made the second attempt, shooting over the bar. Atleti don’t stop when Alexander Sorloth forces a solid save from Bodo goalkeeper Nikita Haikin.

Atlético de Madrid opens the scoring and it is Alexander Sorloth who scores again. Showing his authority in the air, he receives a cross inside the area producing a perfect header that goes low to the left post. The goal comes minutes after Álex Baena’s attempt was disallowed for offside following a VAR review.

Bodo/Glimt are getting some of their groove back. They are making good passes from player to player, but they haven’t been able to create anything substantial yet. Despite the streak of play in which Bodo maintains possession, Julián Álvarez attempts a long shot that goes over the crossbar.

Fredrik Sjovold takes advantage of the change in momentum and ties for Bodo/Glimt. They were regaining control of the game and the goal came as a result. Sjovold receives a precise pass inside the area from Fredrik Bjorkan and finishes it in the bottom right corner.

Solid action from both teams in the first half. Alexander Sorloth used his physical prowess and ability in the air to create threats. Julián Álvarez and Álex Baena also tried long shots. Sorloth also put Atleti ahead by converting a header. But after scoring, Atleti lost control a bit and Bodo/Glimt returned to the game. They made passes and the result was Fredrik Sjovold’s equalizer. Pablo Barrios had a solid chance in added time, but ended up hitting the post.

Bodo/Glimt show their ability to retain the ball. They exchange one-two passes and try to break down the Atleti defense. Jens Hauge made a good long pass but it did not result in any effective play. Both sides are looking to take advantage of their opportunities.

Bodo/Glimt continue to surprise Atlético de Madrid with their controlled play and take the lead. Kasper Hogh perfectly places a rebound on the goal and gives his team the lead. Bodo has been putting together long spells of possession and bothering the always direct Atleti since the middle of the first half. Now they are in front.

The last few minutes belonged to all of Atlético de Madrid, who are still looking for an equalizer. Great controlled play and passing shown by them in the center of the field. Alexander Sorloth’s attempt is stopped by Nikita Haikin, but the latter receives a yellow card for his antics. Meanwhile, Thiago Almad’s shot goes wide and Diego Simeone decides on Nicolás Gonzalex with Nahuel Molina.

With each passing minute, desperation increases among the Atlético de Madrid players. Thiago Almada tries a hard and late tackle looking to recover the ball but comes up empty. Meanwhile, Bodo/Glimt has two changes. Sondre Fet cannot continue due to his injury and is replaced by Isak Maatta. Kasper Hogh also leaves and Andreas Helmersen enters.

A solid comeback victory from Bodo/Glimt and they showed that their victory against Manchester City was not a one-off. Initially, Alexander Sorloth’s aerial ability and Julián Álvarez’s mobility worried them, but little by little they took over the game as soon as their passes connected. He scored two crucial goals in two crucial moments and handed a great team an unforgettable defeat. Diego Simeone and company will be disappointed with their performance.
