Planning a bank trip? You may need to reschedule as banks in some parts of the country will remain closed on Monday. Knowing about bank holidays in advance can help you avoid unnecessary visits, especially if you have time-sensitive branch work such as submitting documents, processing checks or completing other personal banking transactions. According to the state-specific holiday calendar notified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed in West Bengal and Mizoram today, July 6, on the occasion of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee’s birth anniversary and MHIP Day.Holidays coming in July:Under the RBI holiday calendar, many more state-wise bank holidays will be seen in July. Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on July 9 due to Beh Denkhlam. Branches will remain closed in Odisha for Rath Yatra on July 16, while Harela will be celebrated in Uttarakhand and Manipur will also have a bank holiday on the same day.A day later, on July 17, banks will remain closed in Meghalaya to mark the death anniversary of U Tirot Sing. There will be a bank holiday in Sikkim on July 18 for Drukpa Tshe-zi, followed by a bank holiday in Tripura on July 22 for Kharchi Puja.Apart from these regional holidays, bank branches across India will also remain closed on regular weekly holidays: 5, 12, 19 and 26 July (Sundays), and 11 July and 25 July, which fall on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.The closure is limited to these states, with banking operations continuing normally in the rest of the country. Customers can also continue to use digital banking channels such as UPI, internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs, which are expected to remain operational despite branch closures.
