The Bayern Munich ultras lit up the Allianz Arena with pyrotechnics against Sporting Club on the last day of the Champions League and the result is that the Südkurve will be closed for the next match, specifically blocks 111 to 114, against Union Saint-Gilloise, in addition to a fine of 50,000 euros by the UEFA Disciplinary Committee.
Since tickets for FC Bayern’s home matches in the lower category of the Südkurve are not allocated per block and the 9,336 tickets are valid for blocks 109 to 117, it is technically impossible for the club to cancel only the 4,800 tickets for blocks 111 to 114. For this reason, in a first step all tickets for the Südkurve will be canceled and the club will refund the ticket price to its respective buyers. Therefore, all tickets for the Südkurve will become invalid and will not entitle you to enter the Allianz Arena for the match against Saint-Gilloise. Tickets will be canceled on Friday. Should tickets for blocks 109 to 110 and 115 to 117 go on sale again at a later date, FC Bayern will promptly and specifically inform you about the further procedure and organizational details.
In other words, ultras can’t come in to watch and that section will be open to other fans. The idea of the ultras of sacrificing this match in order to continue with the pyrotechnics in other matches is, to say the least, scandalous. Time will tell if this sacrifice is worth it.
