The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday (May 29, 2026) said its designated portal for re-evaluation and verification of this year’s Class 12 response exams will be operational from June 1 to “ensure a seamless and transparent process”.

“In order to ensure a transparent and hassle-free process for verification and re-evaluation of answer books of students who intend to submit their applications on the post-result activities portal, it has been decided that the designated portal will be operational from June 1, 2026,” the Board said in a statement.

This is to ensure the highest standards and evaluation protocols, he added.

The portal that first collapsed on May 19 due to heavy traffic has witnessed multiple failures and entered maintenance codes.

Following multiple complaints from Class 12 students about discrepancies, a four-member team with two experts each from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and IIT Kanpur is expected to conduct a “complete check” of the CBSE IT ecosystem and submit a confidential report to the board, said V. Kamakoti, director of IIT Madras. The Hindu

This announcement on the portal comes days after the CBSE rejected claims that its Onscreen Marking System (OSM) portal, used by examiners to evaluate scanned copies of answer sheets digitally, could have been compromised.

The CBSE has come under fire after several Class 12 students reported incorrect marks on apparently correct answers while receiving copies of the answer scripts they applied for for re-evaluation. Students and parents have also complained about the difficulties they face in the re-evaluation process after completing the board exam.

“This was the first time that CBSE used [the OSM process]and some discrepancies have come to light. I take responsibility for this and assure you that a solution will be found. We are working on it. We will not leave any student’s query unresolved,” Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Thursday (May 28, 2026).

Education Ministry officials confirmed that 98 lakh answer books were scanned and digitally assessed.

The CBSE has said that till May 26, it had received 4,04,319 requests from students for scanned copies of the answer books. A total of 11,31,961 answer sheets have been requested through these applications. The Board said it had provided as many as 8,98,214 answer books in digital format.

“Students who may have queries can contact CBSE telecounseling helpline: 1800 11 8004 and email: resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in,” the statement read.
