CPI State Secretary M. Veerapandian on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) said his party would take a decision if Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader C. Joseph Vijay sought its support to form the government. The TVK is 10 legislators short of crossing the halfway point in the 234-member Assembly in Tamil Nadu.
“So far we have not received any request. If you approach us, we will consider it as in a democracy we must respect all political parties. However, any decision on supporting your government will be taken collectively by the party and not by individuals,” he said.
