Tamil actor Dhanush broke up his two-decade marriage to Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya in 2024. The former couple is now focusing on co-parenting their children – Yatra and Linga. After their separation, Dhanush has been romantically linked to Mrunal Thakur. Their public appearances and subtle social media interactions have only fueled rumors that they are together. On the occasion of Pongal, the alleged couple’s marriage rumors have gone viral.
According to an unverified post doing the rounds online, Mrunal and Dhanush are said to be getting married on Valentine’s Day this year. Additionally, the event is said to be a private and low-key ceremony, with only family and close friends expected to attend. According to the now viral post, Mrunal and Dhanush are not expected to make an official announcement about their wedding as they have always kept their rumored relationship away from the media glare.
Many on social media commented that Dhanush and Mrunal are “rushing” into marriage as it reportedly hasn’t been much time since they started dating. According to speculation, their romance rumors have accelerated since May last year. Furthermore, Dhanush and his ex-wife, filmmaker Aishwarya, announced their separation in January 2022 on social media and were officially granted divorce by a family court in Chennai in November 2024.
While there is no verified information about the wedding, this wouldn’t be the first time a celebrity couple opted for a secret marriage. Late last year, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and director Raj Nidimoru tied the knot in a private ceremony without previously announcing their nuptials or confirming their dating rumours.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna also exchanged rings in a private ceremony in Hyderabad last year without any media announcement or public appearances after the ceremony. They are said to be getting married at the end of February.
