Dhurandhar 2 Early Booking: Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge starring Ranveer Singh, also known as Dhurandhar 2, will hit the screens on March 19 with paid releases on March 18. Pre-orders for the film opened after the trailer was released on Saturday, and only premieres have crossed $8 crores. Dhurandhar 2 also sold a whopping 87,000 tickets in 24 hours. Dhurandhar 2 sells more than 87,000 tickets in 24 hours
Dhurandhar 2 pre-booking has opened on various ticketing platforms, but on BookMyShow (BMS) alone, the film has reached 87.81 thousand tickets in 24 hours. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also noted that as soon as bookings opened, the film sold a staggering 7.5 lakh tickets per hour for paid releases. While this number is nowhere near the highest hourly ticket sales, it is still decent and is expected to increase.
Dhurandhar 2 paid releases reach more $9 crores
Business website Sacnilk reported that as soon as pre-booking for Dhurandhar 2 opened, the Ranveer-starrer sold tickets worth $4 crores worldwide in just under two hours. From this, $PVR, Inox and Cinepolis alone generated Rs 2.50 crore, with 35,000 tickets sold across these multiplex chains. In fact, a new premium pricing category called Super Blockbuster Plus was also introduced, with tickets costing up to $2500 for previews at Delhi-NCR multiplexes.
For paid release, Dhurandhar 2 has already brought $9.03 crore with more than 1 lakh tickets sold. Of this, more $8 crores comes from the Hindi version alone. The Telugu version has attracted more $6 lakh so far, while the Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions brought $5 lakh, $56K and $31K respectively so far. Interestingly, the highest occupancy so far is in Tamil Nadu at 22%. Since the premiere is still more than a week away, the numbers are expected to increase.
Dhurandhar Box Office Collections
For the unversed, Dhurandhar had an opening of $28 crores in India when it released on December 5. The film had grossed $103 crores in its first weekend. At the end of his career, Dhurandhar collected $838.5 million rupees in India and $1303.35 crores worldwide. Dhurandhar 2 is expected to surpass these figures, given the high expectations placed on it and the popularity of the first part. The sequel will see Ranveer, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Rakesh Bedi reprise their roles.
