The return to Dubai, SAS’s first operation in the United Arab Emirates since 2011, marks an important milestone in the airline’s long-term development. Thailand also gets a big boost, with more than 75 percent additional capacity compared to last winter.

With the introduction of Phuket and Krabi, with scheduled operations for the first time in history, SAS becomes the only airline to offer non-stop services from Copenhagen to some of Thailand’s most popular holiday destinations.

Increased A350 operations

The winter expansion is supported by the addition of two new Airbus A350 aircraft, which will enable a 34 per cent increase in A350 operations across the network. This additional capability allows SAS to significantly expand its long-distance presence.

Capacity will increase in key destinations, with 70 percent more seats to Boston, 20 percent more to San Francisco and 10 percent more to Chicago. In Asia, SAS will further strengthen its long-haul presence through coordinated increases in frequency and seat capacity, including growth of more than 50 percent to Seoul (ICN), 40 percent to Tokyo Haneda (HND) and 15 percent to Bangkok (BKK), along with new non-stop connections to Phuket and Krabi.
