Gold prices rose to new record highs on Tuesday as renewed fears of a possible trade war between the United States and the EU pushed investors towards safe haven assets amid growing global uncertainty.The rally followed US President Donald Trump’s tariff threats against European nations opposed to his move in Greenland, sparking risk aversion in global markets. Precious metals extended their gains from the previous session, supported by strong international signals and safe haven demand.On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), delivery of gold futures rose by Rs 1,300, or 1 percent, to Rs 1,46,988 per 10 grams. Silver futures rose by Rs 7,869, or 2.5 per cent, to Rs 3,19,949 per kg.In international markets, COMEX silver hit a new all-time high of $94.74 per troy ounce during Asian trading, while gold hovered near record levels of around $4,670 per troy ounce. Prices subsequently pared some gains after a strong rally in the previous session.Market sentiment remains fragile amid fears of another trade showdown between the United States and Europe. According to AFP, silver hit $94.73, while gold remained just below its all-time high as global risk aversion intensified.Manoj Kumar Jain of Prithvi Finmart said precious metals are seeing high volatility but remain supported. “Silver is expected to hold key support near $84 per troy ounce, while gold may hold support around $4,440 at the close,” he said.On MCX, gold support is seen between Rs 1,44,800 and Rs 1,44,100, with resistance between Rs 1,46,350 and Rs 1,47,000. Silver support lies between Rs 3,03,000 and Rs 2,96,600, with resistance between Rs 3,14,000 and Rs 3,22,000. Jain said the strategy remains to buy gold and silver on dips, with a target of Rs 1,48,000 for gold and Rs 3,22,000 for silver.

Delhi

Gold prices in Delhi today stand at Rs 14,852 for 24 carat gold, Rs 13,615 for 22 carat and Rs 11,143 for 18 carat gold. Compared to yesterday, 24k gold increased by Rs 213, 22k by Rs 195 and 18k by Rs 160.

Bombay

In Mumbai, 24k gold is priced at Rs 14,837 per gram, 22k gold at Rs 13,600 and 18k gold at Rs 11,128. Prices of all purities increased by Rs 213, Rs 195 and Rs 160 respectively.

Bengaluru

Gold prices in Bengaluru mirror those in Mumbai, at Rs 24,000 to Rs 14,837, Rs 22,000 to Rs 13,600 and Rs 18,000 to Rs 11,128 per gram. All variants recorded similar gains compared to the previous session.

Chennai

Chennai recorded steeper gains, with 24-carat gold trading at Rs 15,164 per gram, Rs 22,000 at Rs 13,900 and Rs 18,000 at Rs 11,590. The prices increased by Rs 491 for 24 carat gold, Rs 450 for 22 carat gold and Rs 360 for 18 carat gold.

Calcutta

Gold prices in Kolkata today are Rs 14,837 for 24 carat gold, Rs 13,600 for 22 carat gold and Rs 11,128 for 18 carat gold, reflecting increases similar to those in other eastern and western markets.

Bhubaneswar

In Bhubaneswar, 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 14,837 per gram, 22-carat gold at Rs 13,600 and 18-carat gold at Rs 11,128. All variants posted gains in line with national trends.

Jaipur

Gold prices in Jaipur stand at Rs 14,852 for 24,000 gold, Rs 13,615 for 22,000 gold and Rs 11,143 for 18 carat gold, which are steadily increasing day by day.

Lucknow
