Hearts: A night full of tension, nerves and potential joy awaits you

When Tony Bloom told us in August that he thought the Hearts team in which he had taken a minority stake could split the Old Firm this season, many questioned the Brighton owner’s sanity.

And yet, here we are, nine months later and Bloom’s prediction has come true and the Rangers are now guaranteed to finish no better than third.

With every point Hearts lost came predictions that they would now fail, but those within Tynecastle stood firm. Not only are they still on top, but they could be crowned champions tonight.

However, after the weekend’s results, Hearts skeptics say the title will head to Celtic Park after the next two games.

They may be right, but one thing we have learned this season is that when serious questions have been asked of this Hearts team, they have received positive answers that few other clubs could have answered.

The way they lost the two points on Saturday at Fir Park may well still hurt the Maroons, but for Derek McInnes and his players that moment has passed and they are now moving on to the next task.

Falkirk under John McGlynn have posed real threats to every Premiership team this season, so anyone thinking this game will be simple should think again.

The players, whether they like it or not, will be kept up to date with developments in Motherwell, but first and foremost they must mind their own business.

Tonight will be full of tension, nerves and potentially controversy.

Tynecastle will not be a place for the faint-hearted. However, this could be the biggest night in the club’s history for decades and the best night of their lives for Hearts fans.
