The complaint alleges that the reasons changed after this. The denial, dated July 23, 2024, said: “Our inspection revealed no storm damage to your roof or fence. Both showed significant wear and tear, which is excluded. Internal water damage caused by damage to your roof as a result of wear and tear will also not be covered.” After the homeowner took action on his own, sending evidence and a certified-mail demand for approximately $417,273 to the contractor, a letter dated March 14, 2025, offered a broader reason: “After a second review of the claim, it was determined that damage to the home was caused by rot, deterioration and prolonged exposure to water, which is not covered. As a result, the supplement is denied.”
