The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) issued a yellow alert for the next three days and forecast a rise in temperatures, with the mercury likely to reach 43-44°C and heat wave-like conditions expected at isolated places in Delhi.
A maximum temperature of 38.8°C, 1.1°C above normal, was recorded at the Safdarjung observatory on Tuesday, considered representative of Delhi’s climate. The minimum temperature in Safdarjung was 20.5°C, 2.2°C below normal.
