Newly released medical records add a disturbing new layer to Jeffrey Epstein’s already sordid story, revealing years of chronically low testosterone, repeated complaints of low libido and emails showing he was sent information about penis enlargement pills.
The files, released as part of a massive dump of documents from the U.S. Department of Justice, show that Epstein’s testosterone levels were consistently well below the normal range for years, according to lab results and correspondence with his doctors.
In a 2014 email, his doctor told him bluntly that his testosterone was still low, at 142. Three years later, the same doctor gave him worse news, writing that Epstein’s levels had dropped even further, to 125.
For context, the American Urological Association says that testosterone below 300 is generally considered deficient.
Epstein himself seemed frustrated but conflicted about the treatment. Writing to a doctor in the early hours of April 24, 2015, he noted his long-standing condition and questioned whether time was catching up with him.
“As you can see from the timestamp, my sleep pattern is not wonderful,” Epstein wrote at 3 a.m. “I’m hesitant to start a hormone regimen. My low testosterone levels have been there for 15 years. Is the mechanical view that it’s caught up with me?”
When doctors suggested hormone-related treatments like Clomid, Epstein later claimed he regretted trying them. In a 2016 email, he said he had stopped the medication completely.
“I stopped the clomid. The water retention and fat around my waist made me feel like I was pregnant,” she wrote, calling it “a big mistake.”

The files also show that Epstein repeatedly expressed concerns about his libido and other sexual health problems. In 2012, an email from someone identified as “Dr. Maxman” arrived in his inbox, offering information on “max penis enlargement pills.” The records do not show whether Epstein ever sought out those products.
Medical correspondence included in the document dump also points to a long history of infections. Epstein referenced gonorrhea in emails to doctors and described test results that showed parasites, blood in the urine and decreased urine flow. In a message to a New York doctor in 2016, he summarized his condition in stark terms.
“Urine flow decreased, testosterone levels are very low i.e. 125, the same for ten years,” he wrote, before adding: “Sherlock? How can we work together?”
The same set of records shows that Epstein sought information about freezing his sperm, another detail that emerged as investigators sifted through years of private communications.
Epstein died in federal custody in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, in a death ruled a suicide. He previously pleaded guilty in 2008 to state charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution.
The owner did not immediately comment, despite public pleas from journalists asking him to intervene.
