The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will cost exactly the same as their predecessors, according to a new research note from GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu, a consistent provider of Apple-related supply chain information.
This is obviously very good news, if successful, as smartphone price stability is not guaranteed this year, given that memory production seems to go mainly to AI data centers.
Pu says Apple is focusing on cost management, based on its supply chain research, to keep prices the same as last year. Pu believes Apple has been negotiating with Samsung and SK Hynix to secure relatively favorable memory chip deals, and hopes Apple can reduce the costs of some other core components of the iPhone, including the display and cameras, to offset any increase in the cost of RAM.
