IPL 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set for another record, a huge success from...

Young prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already lit up IPL 2026 with a blistering run and is now on the brink of another major milestone in T20 cricket. The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals sensation is just one six away from completing 100 sixes in T20 cricket. If he achieves the feat, he will become the only teenager in the world to reach this milestone.Sooryavanshi has already etched her name in the record books this season with a number of notable achievements:

  1. Fastest to 400 runs in an IPL season: He reached 400 runs in just 167 balls, breaking the previous record of 188 balls held by Andre Russell.
  2. Youngest and fastest to 1000 T20 runs: During his 37-ball 103 against SRH, he became the youngest player to reach 1,000 runs in men’s T20 and the fastest by balls faced, achieving it in 473 balls, eclipsing Mitchell Owen’s record of 533 balls.
  3. Most sixes by an Indian in an IPL innings: He smashed 12 sixes against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 25 April 2026, breaking the previous Indian record of 11 shared by him and Murali Vijay.
  4. Fastest century of the season: His 36-ball ton against SRH is the fastest of the 2026 edition and the third-fastest in IPL history.
  5. From the youngest to several centuries: He is the youngest player to score two centuries in the IPL, both off less than 40 balls.

Now, all eyes are on his potential 100th, which could happen in Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Delhi Capitals in Jaipur.

Abhishek currently holds the record with 42 sixes in IPL 2024.In IPL 2026 so far, Sooryavanshi has scored 400 runs in 9 matches at an average of 44.44 and a staggering strike rate of 238.09, including one century and two fifties, with a best score of 103. He has hit 34 fours and 37 sixes. He only needed 6 sixes to surpass Abhishek’s record.
