The US Central Command on Wednesday verified reports claiming that Iran had shot down a US F-18 fighter jet over Chabahar amid ongoing intense military action in the Middle East, involving Iran and the US-Israel military partnership.Dismissing the Iranian claims as “false,” the US military command responsible for the Middle East, Central Command, responded on social media platform X.
Strengthening its stance, US CENTCOM once again refuted all claims that Iranian forces had shot down US fighter jets, stating in X: “No US fighter jets have been shot down by Iran.”Earlier, Iranian state-affiliated outlet Press TV shared footage from X that purportedly showed an accident over the coastal city of Chabahar.

Do you think a ceasefire in the conflict between the United States and Iran is possible soon?
In the video, a plane, which Iran says is a US F-18, is seen being shot down “successfully.” “The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran (IRGC) announces that it has successfully attacked a US F-18 fighter jet,” the outlet said when publishing the video. The development comes hours after Iran rejected a US proposal for a ceasefire, warning that attacks will continue until its demands are met. Tehran dismissed a 15-point US plan, saying any truce would take place only on its “own terms and schedule,” a senior official told Press TV. “Iran will end the war when it decides to do so, not when Trump foresees its conclusion,” the official added. The conditions declared by Iran include a cessation of attacks, guarantees against future conflicts, compensation for war damages, an end to hostilities on all fronts and recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
