India wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan replaced teammate Abhishek Sharma as the world’s number one T20 international batsman in the latest ICC player rankings. Kishan achieved a new career-best rating after the latest update to the ICC rankings released today, following India’s 2-nil T20 International series loss to Ireland in Belfast.
The left-handed batsman’s rise to the top has been boosted by his outstanding performances in the ICC T20 World Cup earlier this year, where he amassed 317 runs at a strike rate of almost 200. In another major change, Australia’s Travis Head rose to the number one spot among Test batsmen for the first time in his career.
