 & more related news here

The second week of the Italian Open is here, with the women’s fourth round underway and the final matches of the men’s third round about to come to a close. Our live tracker will help you stay up to date with the latest Rome results.

17:09 CET – Jannik Sinner is just terrifying. The ruthless Italian has made incredibly light work of Alexei Popyrin, as he does with everyone, dismantling the Australian 6-2, 6-0 in just over an hour.

At home, Sinner hit 20 winners and committed only 12 unforced errors, completely annihilating his opponent. He has now won a whopping 30 consecutive matches at the Masters 1000 level.

How the hell can anyone stop him? It seems absolutely certain that he will complete the Career Golden Masters here in Rome, etching his name in the history books as the youngest player to do so.

Meanwhile, two-time champion Elina Svitolina was in impressive touch, as the seventh seed cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Nikola Bartunkova.

She will face second seed Elena Rybakina or former world number one Karolina Pliskova in the quarterfinals.

16:02 CET – Mirra Andreeva continues to impress on clay this season, sealing her place in the Rome quarter-finals with a very good 6-3, 6-3 victory over the difficult Elise Mertens.

The Russian won the title in Linz and reached the final of the recent WTA 1000 event in Madrid. She will be looking for another good run here in Rome ahead of the French Open, and now has a tantalizing round of 16 meeting with Coco Gauff.

15:43 CET – How is Coco Gauff still doing this? The American somehow prevailed against 18-year-old Iva Jovic, beating her fellow American 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 in a real fight that lasted two hours and 46 minutes.

Jovic was serving for the match at 5-3 in the second set, and even had a match point in that game. However, as she always does, Gauff managed to go incredibly deep to fight back, taking control as Jovic faded in the final set.

Jovic committed 10 double faults, which proved extremely costly in big moments. In the end, Gauff showed his experience to advance to the quarterfinals.

15:23 CET – Italian Andrea Pellegrino’s fairytale run at home continues, with the qualifier defeating Frances Tiafoe 7-6(8), 6-1 to seal her place in the fourth round.

It is easily the biggest win of the 29-year-old’s career, and he has now won five matches in a row in Rome en route to his first round of 16 appearance at a Masters event.

He faces a possible showdown with none other than the world number one and fellow Italian Jannik Sinner, who will soon face Alexei Popyrin.

14:22 CET – With the women’s draw opening up, Jelena Ostapenko is making the most of it, beating Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets to win 6-1, 6-2.

The Latvian needed just 71 minutes to advance, with a dominant serve helping her along the way.

Meanwhile, in the men’s draw, one top spot has fallen: Brandon Nakashima was defeated by world number 117, Nikoloz Basilashvili, in straight sets, 7-6(5), 6-4.

13:04 CET – Lucky loser Martin Landaluce produced a strong performance to earn a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Mattia Bellucci in Rome.

The 20-year-old Spaniard, who reached the Miami quarter-finals earlier this year, booked a place in just his second fourth round of the Masters by losing just seven points on serve against Bellucci.

12:32 CET – What a last season of tour Sorana Cirstea is enjoying!

The 36-year-old followed up her victory over world number one Aryna Sabalenka by comfortably beating offside Linda Noskova 6-2, 6-4.

Cirstea is now in her first quarter-final in Rome and is ranked 13th in the WTA race, illustrating how well she is playing this year. In fact, he’s probably playing the best tennis of his career!

12:28 CET – Andrey Rublev is the first winner of the day in the Italian capital, sealing an easy 6-4, 6-4 victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to book his place in the fourth round.

Rublev, who reached the final in Barcelona a few weeks ago, was super strong with his serve, getting 72% of first serves and winning 85% of them.

He will now make his first Masters round of 16 appearance of the season and will face the winner of Brandon Nakashima vs Nikoloz Basilashvili.

11:05 CET – The match is about to begin in Rome, with the players taking to the field.
