After the big year-end releases Mark and 45, the 2026 Kannada film releases pick up pace in late January when Duniya Vijay brings the first star-led film, namely Landlord, to theaters (on January 23). He is joined by Zaid Khan with Cult, while next week he has three smaller films, Amruthanjan, Valavaara and Chowkidar.
February begins with three confirmed releases: JC The University, Rakkasapuradhol and Non-Veg, followed by Niranjan Sudhindra’s Seetha Payanam, directed by Arjun Sarja. Dhanveerrah has reserved the last weekend for his Hayagreeva. Kiccha Sudeep’s nephew Sanchith Sanjeev’s film Mango Pachcha was meant to be a Sankranti release, which was later postponed and the makers said that it will probably release in the 3rd or 4th week of February, but nothing has been officially announced. Ninasam Sathish’s Rise of Ashoka is also said to be a February film, but there is no date yet.

Prakyath at JC University
JC The University – February 6, 2026
JC The University is produced by actor Daali Dhananjaya and stars Prakyath Paramesh. Directed by Chetan Jayaram, the film is said to be a mass spectacle, set in a jail context according to the title: JC (Judicial Custody). A transformational journey of the protagonist spanning a decade, from school to his years in prison, the film explores life behind bars, the inmate hierarchy and more.
Raj B Shetty in Rakkasapuradhol
Rakkasapuradhol – February 6, 2026
Raj B Shetty, who plays the main antagonist of Landlord, is the protagonist of Rakkasapuradhol, a mystery thriller in which he plays a policeman posted in a rural area, who faces personal demons. The film has been directed by debutant Ravi Saranga, director Prem’s partner, and is set in a town plagued by mysterious deaths. The film also stars Swathishta Krishna, Archana Kottige, among others.
Atharva Prakash in non-vegetarian version

Non-Veg is a bilingual Tulu-Kannada comedy directed by K Sooraj Shetty and starring a cast of mostly newbies. Atharva, who was in the Kannada film X&Y, plays the lead and is accompanied by Sanjana Burli. The supporting cast includes the likes of Pushparaj Bollar, Prakash Thuminad, Deepak Rai Panaje, Mime Ramadas among others, most of whom have become familiar faces thanks to the success of Su From So.
Niranjan Sudhindra in Seetha Payanam
Seetha Payanam – February 14, 2026
Action king Arjun Sarja’s latest directorial venture features his daughter Aishwarya in the lead, along with Real Star Upendra’s nephew Niranjan Sudhindra. A love story between two very different people, the film also stars Sathyaraj, Kovai Sarala and Prakash Raj, while Dhruva Sarja has a pivotal cameo. Seetha Payanam will be released in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.
Dhanveerrah in Hayagrriva
Hayagrriva – February 28, 2026
Vaamana actor Dhanveerrah’s Hayagrriva was released two years ago and is now ready for release. The film, which pairs him with Sanjana Anand, marks Raghukumar’s directorial debut. Not much is currently known about Hayagrriva, but the filmmaker had said that “it interweaves mythology and a crime set in modern times.”
