First rain of the season in the city late at night.
Late in the night, the first rain of the winter season was recorded in Kanpur, causing a change in the city’s climate. According to the report issued by the Meteorological Department of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), a total of 4 millimeters of rain was recorded in the city.
This rain after a long time increased the humidity in the environment and somewhat reduced the effect of the cold. Six trains arrived late at Kanpur Central.
Minimum temperature 5.5 degrees higher
After the rains, a slight increase in the minimum temperature was recorded. According to the CSA weather report, the minimum temperature was recorded at 13.0 degrees Celsius, 5.5 degrees Celsius above normal.
Mild cold persisted throughout the night and morning, but thanks to the higher minimum temperature, people were relieved of the intense cold.

Although the sun came out, there was an alternating pattern of sun and shadow due to the movement of the clouds. The sunlight did not reach its maximum intensity, which kept the feeling of cold throughout the day.
An increase in maximum temperature was recorded. In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature increased by 2.2 degrees Celsius, reaching 21.8 degrees Celsius. This was 0.8 degrees Celsius above normal.
The temperature is likely to drop Meteorology expert Dr SN Sunil Pandey said snowfall is occurring in the mountains. Due to humidity, clouds may cover some places in the next 24 hours. After January 27, clouds will appear again. There is a possibility of rain again from the afternoon of January 27 to 28.
After this the temperatures will drop. The cold weather will continue into the first week of February. Due to the increase in humidity in the air due to rain, a mild cold will be felt during the morning and evening in the coming days.
Meanwhile, no significant drop in daytime temperatures has been forecast for now. Sunlight may remain weak due to cloud cover.
