The case brought by Liberty Mutual and nine affiliated carriers involves six provider entities — one medical practice, three chiropractic offices and two physical therapy operations — as well as licensed professionals whose names were on the doors and a group of unlicensed individuals described in the filing as “management defendants.” They all allegedly operated out of two multidisciplinary clinics in Queens, one on Rockaway Boulevard in Jamaica and the other on Merrick Boulevard in Rosedale. On paper, these practices looked like normal providers treating drivers injured in accidents. According to the filing, behind the scenes they were something else entirely.
