Life in Kalghatgi town and several villages in the taluk in Dharwad district was affected on Tuesday afternoon due to hailstorm.
The sudden development left the residents of the taluk in a state of panic, forcing them to seek shelter wherever possible.
Such was the effect of the hailstorm that it seemed that crop fields, roads, open spaces and roofs were covered in snow.
In some places, the size of the hail caused panic and forced people to run for shelter and shelter.
Several vehicles were stranded on the road as hail covered miles of stretches of road, making it dangerous for them to drive. Only after the intensity subsided and the hail melted did motorists carefully drive away.
Although rain with hail was witnessed in several parts of Dharwad district, it was not as intense as in Kalghatgi.
