Making Your Hair Healthy – Atlantic-Pacific & more related News Here

About seven years ago my hair really started to struggle. I suffered from constant breakage, split ends, too much color, and I was constantly applying too much heat. Not a good recipe at all. It was the era of *big barrel curls* and my hair was in a state of disrepair. I realized I needed to reset. In fact, I knew it would take years, not months, to get my hair to a more healthy place. Now, while my hair is by no means perfect, I can confidently say that it’s light years better than where we were ten years ago. Below are some steps I took to get my hair back on track.

no more heat // After blow drying and curling or flat ironing my hair every day, I knew I had to completely avoid the amount of heat I was applying. This would be the start of something new that eventually stuck – my low bun! I started wearing my hair back every day and only applied small amounts of heat, if any. Also, to help the drying process without heat, I use this.

Getting serious about conditioning and safety // Around this time I became very serious about hair products that would protect my hair. I now use leave in conditioner or heat protectant lotion every day. It helps nourish and protect my hair – even when I’m only blow drying for about 90 seconds. My current favorites: this leave-in conditioner, this heat protectant, this lotion, and this spray!

Adding supplements to the mix //Healthy hair comes from the inside out, right? I added these supplements to my daily routine and noticed a huge difference. There is also a supplement available specifically for postpartum. You can save over $100 by signing up for a membership right now.

resetting my skull // I use a lot of product on my hair, and because of that, I can get a lot of strength. I have talked about this product over and over again because it is absolutely incredible. I use it in place of shampoo every 10-12 days and it leaves my hair absolutely clean – without any frizz. I can’t say enough good things about it. In fact, it’s one of my most repurchased beauty items ever. Buy it here.

changing my color // Around 2015 I had a wake-up call. My hair was too blonde, too processed and needed a break. Since then, I get highlights less often, have fewer highlights, and have gone less blonde when adding glazes into the mix. Although I’m still largely fair, I’m less fair now, and a more healthy fair! For years I have been thinking about returning to my natural hair color, which is medium brown. We will see!

mask every week // I do a hair mask about once per week to give the conditioner a little boost. Currently in my rotation are this mask, this mask and this mask. As a reminder, the order is always shampoo first, then mask, then conditioner, then leave in treatment, and then oil!

I hope those steps were helpful. Since so many of you asked, I’ll list some other tools I use in my hair care. In the shower I use both this hairbrush, which I love, and this wet brush. When I use heat I usually use this dryer and this straightener. My two favorite hairsprays are this one and this one!
