Spain: Representing India on one of the biggest stages in youth football, Minerva Academy produced a commanding performance to defeat US-based Boca Orange Club 4-1 in their first match of the prestigious MIC Cup.

Against a physically strong and well-trained American team, Minerva showed composure, tactical intelligence and attacking quality to take complete control of the match from the start.

Operating in a dynamic 4-3-3 formation, Minerva imposed its high-pressing philosophy against the American team, which lined up in a compact 4-4-2 system. The early exchanges were lively, with the American team looking to use their pace on the counterattack, but Minerva’s structure and pressing soon began to dictate the pace.

The breakthrough came in the 15th minute, when Chetan Tiwari produced a powerful shot that gave Minerva the lead against their United States opponents. The goal set the tone for what would become a dominant display.

Just four minutes later, Konthoujam Chetan doubled the lead, finishing clinically to put Minerva ahead 2-0 against the American team. At that time, Minerva was in complete control, both tactically and territorially.

Despite the American club’s efforts to respond through quick transitions, Minerva’s defensive discipline ensured they went into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead. In the second half, the United States team briefly returned to the match, giving up a goal to make it 2-1. However, Minerva’s response once again underlined her superiority.

In the 35th minute, Konthoujam Chetan completed his brace with another composed finish, restoring the two-goal lead against the United States’ rival and effectively ending any hope of a comeback.
The final blow came in the 46th minute, when Azam Khan finished with precision, sealing a comprehensive 4-1 victory over the American club.

Minerva Academy’s performance against their US opponents was defined by high intensity, tactical discipline and clinical execution in the final third. Every phase of the game reflected preparation and belief as the Indian team controlled the game against international competition.

With goals from Chetan Tiwari (15′), Konthoujam Chetan (19′, 35′) and Azam Khan (46′), the Minerva Academy “Warriors” have certainly started their campaign. Against a strong American team, this was more than just a victory: it was a global statement of intent.
