CNG rates revised in major cities
| City | PRIce |
| Delhi | Rs 81.09 per kilogram |

The latest revision comes as petrol and diesel prices were hiked again on Saturday, the third hike in less than 10 days.Petrol prices were increased by up to 87 paise per liter in major cities, while diesel prices increased by up to 91 paise per litre.Petrol price in Delhi has now increased from Rs 98.64 to Rs 99.51 per litre, while diesel prices have increased from Rs 91.58 to Rs 92.49 per litre. The sustained rise in CNG, petrol and diesel prices comes amid mounting pressure on global energy markets due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and ongoing disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy corridor through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas trade passes.Global crude oil prices, which were hovering around $70-72 per barrel before the conflict, rose to more than $120 at one point and are currently trading in the range of $104-110. India’s crude oil basket has averaged around $113-114 per barrel in recent months, compared to around $69 per barrel in February.India imports about 90 percent of its crude oil needs, making domestic fuel prices highly sensitive to international market movements. The back-to-back hike in prices of CNG, petrol and diesel is expected to increase transportation costs for private vehicle owners, cab drivers and commuters who depend on CNG as a relatively affordable fuel option.Meanwhile, commercial vehicle operators and taxi unions continued their protest in Delhi-NCR against rising fuel prices and stagnant fares.Transport bodies including All India Motor Transport Congress and Chalak Shakti Union have demanded rollback of recent fuel hikes, withdrawal of CNG surcharge and revision of taxi fares, warning that rising operating costs are seriously affecting the livelihood of drivers. Also read: Petrol, diesel prices hiked for the third time, increase by almost 90 paise – check rates in your city
