Poco seems to be preparing its upcoming performance-focused smartphones for the global market. According to an industry expert, Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max could launch globally on March 17, 2026.

If the details are accurate, both phones will follow a familiar Poco strategy: bringing slightly modified versions of China-exclusive Xiaomi devices to international markets. In this case, the upcoming models are expected to be based on Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max.
The Poco X8 Pro is confirmed to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, which should offer solid performance for gaming, multitasking, and daily use. On the front, the device is expected to feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, something that has become quite standard in this segment.
The camera hardware seems pretty typical for a performance-focused mid-range phone. Reports suggest a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor, paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera, while the front houses a 20MP selfie shooter.
One of the most interesting aspects may be the battery. The X8 Pro is rumored to pack a 7,560 mAh battery, the same as the Redmi Turbo 5. This is unusually large for a device in this category. It’s also likely to support 100W fast charging, so recharging the battery shouldn’t take long.
Like the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, the Poco X8 Pro Max is expected to feature a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K display and a more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. The camera setup includes a 50MP Light Hunter 600 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 20MP selfie shooter.
Battery capacity could be another point to highlight. Global variants are rumored to include an 8,500 mAh battery, while some reports suggest certain markets could see a 9,000 mAh version. Charging is still expected to max out at 100W. Since certifications already exist in several regions, the launch may not be far away.
