In the twentieth round of the Eredivisie, PSV faced FC Zwolle at home. In this match the first goal was not long in coming and Jan Vennegoor from Hesselink opened the scoring within a minute. Ronald Waterreus – Unemployed – 55 years old
The seven-time Dutch international spent a total of ten years at PSV. During his stay in Eindhoven he played 385 games, in which he kept a clean sheet more than 150 times. Only Hans van Breukelen was under the crossbar more often for PSV. After his time in Eindhoven, Ronald kept goal for Manchester City, Rangers, New York Red Bulls and AZ. Ronald can look back on a successful career in which he won the Eredivisie 4 times and became champion in Scotland once.
Wilfred Bouma – PSV U21 assistant coach – 47 years old
The defender spent much of his career in Eindhoven, where he won the national title six times and the cup three times. Meanwhile he was rented to Fortuna Sittard and MVV and had an adventure in England with Aston Villa. Wilfred also earned 37 international caps for the Dutch national team. He currently works as assistant coach of PSV U21.
Ernest Faber – Technical Director Heracles Almelo – 54 years
Ernest is truly a son of the club and from his youth he joined the PSV first team. After two loan spells at NEC and Sparta Rotterdam, the defender immediately earned his reward on his debut for PSV by beating Feyenoord in the Super Cup. After his playing career, Ernest remained linked to PSV and was active for several years as a coach and director of youth training. Ernest currently works as technical director at Heracles Almelo.
Jan Heintze – Unemployed – 62 years old
The Danish defender was part of the legendary team that won the treble in ’88. In 1994, the Danish international moved to Germany, where he played for KFC Uerdingen and Bayer Leverkusen. After five years, the defender returned to PSV, where he ended his successful career in 2003.
André Ooijer – Unemployed – 51 years old
André played several seasons for PSV during his career. In addition to PSV, the defender played for several Dutch clubs, including: Ajax, FC Volendam and Roda JC. The 55-time international also played minutes abroad. Between 2006 and 2009, for example, he played for Blackburn Rovers. After his football career, André was active for several seasons as assistant coach of PSV 1, but last December he decided to resign from his duties.
Mark van Bommel – Coach – 49 years
Mark became a true club icon, winning a total of four titles and a KNVB Cup with PSV. Also abroad Mark experienced several successes. The midfielder was champion with AC Milan, FC Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona and with the latter he won the UEFA Champions League in 2006. As a coach, the orange international led PSV, Wolfsburg and Royal Antwerp, with whom he became champion of Belgium in 2023. In addition, the Van Bommel family remains linked to the club to this day and his son Ruben has been playing for PSV since last summer.
Johann Vogel – Unemployed – 49 years old
The Swiss midfielder was admired at Eindhoven from 1999 to 2005. After his time at PSV, the Swiss international played for AC Milan, Real Betis and Blackburn Rovers before finishing his career at Grasshoppers in 2012. Johann can look back on a successful career in which he won the top division four times and became Swiss champion three times.
Arjen Robben – FC Groningen youth coach – 42 years
At the age of 18, Arjen Robben moved to PSV. It wasn’t long before the outfielder showed his class and after 2 seasons he moved to Chelsea. In England, Arjen won the Premier League twice before moving to Real Madrid. At the service of ‘La Real’ he was proclaimed champion of Spain 1 time and won the cup. After his time in Spain, Arjen signed a contract with Der Rekordmeister, where he became a true club legend. In total, Arjen played 10 seasons in southern Germany, winning eight times and winning the UEFA Champions League once. In 2020, the 97-time capped Oranje concluded his career at FC Groningen, where he currently works as a youth coach.
Dennis Rommedahl – Unemployed – 47 years old
Dennis moved to Eindhoven in the summer of 1997, but was immediately loaned out to RKC Waalwijk. After a year at RKC, the Danish international broke through in Eindhoven and made a total of 223 appearances for PSV in which he scored 38 goals and provided 54 assists. Dennis went on to play for Charlton Athletic, Ajax, NEC, Olympiacos and Brøndby IF before ending his career.
Mateja Kežman – Unemployed – 47 years old
The Serbian striker, who scored a hat-trick in this match, played a total of four years in Eindhoven, during which he became the league’s top scorer three times. After his time in Eindhoven, the Serbian played for several top clubs in Europe, including Atlético Madrid, Chelsea, Fenerbahçe and PSG. Through Zenit and BATE Borisov, the striker ended up at Hong Kong’s South China AA, where he hung up his football boots in 2012.
Jan Vennegoor from Hesselink – Technical Director PSV U21 – 47 years old
Jan quickly became a crowd favorite during his time in Eindhoven. The striker scored up to 89 goals in the five years he played in Eindhoven, which earned him a transfer to Celtic. In Scotland, the striker soon caused a sensation and became Scottish champion twice. After spells at Hull City and Rapid Wien, the Orange international returned to PSV, where he finished his career in 2012. Jan remained linked to PSV after his football career and is currently active as technical director of PSV U21.
