Sri Ganganagar recorded the state’s highest maximum temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius during a 24-hour period ending Friday morning, while Sirohi recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.
According to the Met Office, most of the state is likely to experience mainly dry weather over the next week.
However, under the influence of a fresh western disturbance, northwest and northern Rajasthan may witness thunderstorm activity, light rain and gusting winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph during the evening hours of May 22 and 23.
The department said temperatures could drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in some areas over the next 48 hours due to strong dust-laden winds blowing at speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour.
From May 24, temperatures are expected to rise again by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius and severe heat waves are likely in isolated places in the state.
