The soon-to-be-launched Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 grabbed the headlines last weekend after making its first road appearance in Europe at the Rome Marathon.
The parade in the Italian capital was led by the new model, which was joined on the starting line by a selection of classic and vintage motorcycles from the Indian company’s history.
RE revealed little about the look of its Flying Flea C6, as the electric model was dressed in a camouflage livery for its first appearance on European roads.

Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 on the start line
Before the starting signal, 23 Royal Enfield motorcycles circulated in formation along the old cobblestone streets of the marathon route. This meant passing world-famous landmarks: the Colosseum, Circo Massimo, Piazza Del Popolo, Piazza Di Spagna and Piazza Navona.
The Flying Flea C6 was joined by Royal Enfield’s first motorized vehicle, which was a Quadracycle from 1901. In addition, a 1921 225cc Model 201, a 1953 700cc Meteor and a factory-prepared 350cc 350cc Bullet Trails from 1957 also lined up for the start.
The partnership between Royal Enfield and the Marathon organizers also resulted in a total of 30 Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan 450 machines being used by mobile support teams, hostesses and mobile media units.
Royal Enfield’s current range of motorcycles was launched at the event by selected owners of the Rome branch of the ‘Riders Club of Europe’ (RCE).

The riders arrived fresh from an RCE 125th Anniversary Community Ride the day before the marathon (Saturday, March 21), where RCE members participated in a 125km (around 77 miles) ride to mark the brand’s 125th anniversary celebrations.
Around 40,000 runners are believed to have participated in Sunday’s marathon, with representation from approximately 166 countries.
