The second of three host nations began their World Cup run on Friday afternoon, but Canada found itself in danger of losing on home soil late in the game.

Canada trailed Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0 in Toronto in the 78th minute, but Cyle Larin stepped up to give his team a chance. Larin found the ball in traffic to score the tying goal with just 12 minutes left in added time.

Canada’s most prominent soccer fan, Ryan Reynolds, was in the stands at BMO Field, and the camera focused on Reynolds just in time to capture his priceless celebration after Larin’s goal.

Reynolds has become a face of North American soccer since he bought the Welsh soccer club Wrexham AFC along with fellow actor Rob McElhenny. The couple and the club are the subject of the hit FX documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham.”

Now, Reynolds hopes his own national team can participate in the World Cup in its first time as a host nation.
