Sergio Hudson presented his Fall/Winter 2026 collection at the New York Public Library, celebrating ten years in the business with a focused exploration of tailored stretch suiting, American sportswear and sculptural silhouettes. The anniversary show took inspiration from the grandeur of famous black opera singers like Leontyne Price and the commanding stage presence of Aretha Franklin, transforming that sense of drama into a collection defined by elevated femininity and precision.
The formation stabilized the lineup. Mohair, cashmere, suede, embossed croc, and snakeskin-embossed leather elevated classic tailoring, while silk flared evening skirts, jewel-embellished bustiers, and black column gowns paired with cascading tulle exuded softness and dynamism.
Hudson’s signature structure remained intact, but materials added depth and dimension.
This season marked an evolution. Sculpted floral appliqués, plunging décolletage, and sharply tailored, figure-sculpting trousers demonstrated a sophisticated approach to proportion and construction. Unexpected color combinations – mustard with teal, electric blue sequins with bright pink – brought contrast and clarity, reinforcing the collection’s confidence.
A decade later, Hudson continues to refine his aesthetic while expanding his visual language. The Fall/Winter 2026 offering reflects both discipline and evolution, underscoring their commitment to structure, glamor and longevity.
